Welcome to the home page for My War Never Ended, a documentary film project focusing on Spokane area veterans. Take three-and-a-half minutes to watch our Project Trailer below that explains what we’re doing and how YOU can get involved and make a difference in the lives of local veterans.
Your Invitation. If you or a family member are a veteran, or if you’re interested or involved in serving veterans and their families in the greater Spokane (Eastern Washington) area, please consider this your invitation to get involved and become a part of our documentary team for this project. We want this project to be guided by the experiences, the knowledge, and the needs of our veterans, which means we will actively seek your involvement as we look for:
- Veterans willing to appear in cameo vignettes throughout the film;
- Veterans willing to sit down and share with us their unique perspectives on the challenges and issues facing veterans in our community;
- Veterans who are now, or have recently been, homeless, and would be willing to share their experiences with us;
- Families of veterans who fell in action and how those families are coping with their loss.
- Veterans struggling with service-related issues such as PTSD, adequate medical care, mental health & suicidal thoughts, qualifying for a service-related disability, discovering and accessing veterans benefits, (and more that you know about but we don’t!
- Community businesses and groups offering practical ideas and action items for serving local veterans
ZOOM Meeting. There’s more, and that’s where your thoughts, ideas, and insights will be invaluable and play an important part in guiding this documentary. In August of 2021, we plan to set up a regular ZOOM call for everyone who wants to learn more about the project and get involved. This is where we’ll update everyone on where the project is at, give newcomers a place to plug in, discuss how things are progressing, and talk about what still needs to be done. You can let us know that you want to be included in the initial ZOOM meeting by using the Contact Us option in the menu bar at the top of this page. Stay Tuned For More Updates!
Memorial Day 2021
As part of our pre-production work for “My War Never Ended” we’ve been working with the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA, doing some filming on location there. Due to COVID restrictions still in place in late May of 2021, they were forced to cancel any official on-site Memorial Day observance. Instead, they asked if we could create a Memorial Day piece to honor our veterans that they could post on their website and social media sites. Below is a piece we created.
